Jennifer Anderson, LMSW
Jennifer Anderson, LMSW graduated with her Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2016. She is currently licensed as an LMSW and is pursuing her LSCSW at Family Psychological Services. She has worked with at-risk youth in both school settings and through individual and family
psychotherapy in private practice. At FPS she is now seeing children and adolescents, couples and families and under the clinical supervision of Dr. James Smith, MSW at Washburn University.
Jennifer has experience working with clients struggling with addiction, anxiety and depression, those grieving the loss of a loved one, couples navigating relationships, individuals, pre-marital couples, families with older adolescents and adult children, and adults dealing with everyday life stressors including family issues and occupational stress.
She has years of experience working with adolescents and adults who have experienced early childhood trauma. Jennifer is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) protocol. EMDR techniques are used to treat individuals, both children and adults, who have a history of trauma.
Jennifer uses a strength-based approach, helping clients to realize their own inner strength to help make desired life changes. She believes strongly that people have the ability within themselves to make those changes and create the life they want. Jennifer believes it’s important in the therapeutic process to establish a relationship built on trust, acceptance and empathy.
Jennifer's calendar will be posted this fall. Until then, please call Carrie Poe at 785-371-1414 to find out her availabilities.
